The archaeology field 2015 in Samshvilde is over

Samshvilde  Archaeological Expedition of the University of Georgia has finished scientific researches on the site in 2015. The team of geophysicists  covered an area of 300 m2 with GPR and the results will be discussed on the annual conference of the University in December. At the same time excavations /prof. D. Berikashvili/ were carried on the central part of Samshvilde site, where a new architectural elements and archaeological finds were found.

The main field work was done by students of the School of Humanities at the University of Georgia. They have practiced in excavations, geophysics, history and conservation of the site.
